Her story
Understanding a person deeply is the first step to helping them.
Early in her teaching career, Shivani spent three years as a refugee class teacher in the heart of South-Western Sydney, working with children whose families had fled war, many of whom had had little or no schooling.
Walking alongside those children, and seeing what trauma and displacement asked of them, changed the course of her career. It was during those years that she began studying psychology, driven by a simple conviction: that understanding a person deeply is the first step to helping them. Nearly two decades on, that same belief shapes every assessment she writes.
