Adult assessments
It's never too late to understand yourself.
Neuro-affirming, unhurried and confidential assessments for autism, ADHD and learning differences.

Where you are now
Years of wondering, finally named.
Many adults come to assessment after years of quietly wondering, sometimes prompted by a child's diagnosis, a new challenge at work or study, or simply a sense that the way they experience the world has never quite been named.
At Inner Pathways, adult assessments for autism, ADHD and learning differences are neuro-affirming, unhurried and confidential, focused on your strengths as much as your challenges. You'll receive a clear, readable report that makes sense of your story and gives you practical next steps, whether that's adjustments at work or university, or a conversation with your GP or psychiatrist.
What we assess
Your story, in plain language.
We assess autism, ADHD and learning differences in adults. Many people we see were never picked up when they were younger, especially women, because it can show up in ways that are easy to miss.
We take time to understand your story and how things are for you now, and we write your report in plain language. It can be used to help you get adjustments at work or study, or to support a conversation with your GP or psychiatrist about next steps.

Why does it take this many hours?
Your face-to-face appointments are only about a third of the work. The rest is scoring, careful interpretation, writing a clear report, and a feedback session to talk it all through with you.
Medicare: assessments can't be claimed on Medicare.

FAQ
Questions adults ask
Do I need a referral?
No. You can book directly. A GP referral is welcome but not required.
Can I claim the assessment on Medicare?
No. Psychological assessments are not rebatable under Medicare.
I was never assessed as a child. Is it too late?
Not at all. Many adults are assessed for the first time later in life. The assessment looks at your developmental history alongside how things are for you now, and with your consent may include input from a family member or partner where that's helpful.
Will the report help me access ADHD medication?
A diagnostic report can support your consultation with a psychiatrist, who makes any decision about medication. Some psychiatrists may also request their own assessment.
Can the report support adjustments at work or university?
Yes. Recommendations can be written specifically to support workplace or study adjustments.
Is my assessment confidential?
Yes. Your report is released only to you and anyone you consent to share it with, within the usual legal limits of confidentiality.
