Our approach

A report you can actually use.

At Inner Pathways, an assessment is never just a label. It is a clear, compassionate picture of how your child thinks, learns and experiences the world, written so you can actually use it.

With nearly two decades working alongside children, families and schools, including eleven years as a school counsellor and psychologist and seven as a primary teacher, Shivani understands both sides of the classroom door. That means reports that speak plainly to parents and practically to teachers, with strengths at the centre and clear next steps you can act on.

What we assess

Autism, ADHD, learning and development.

We assess autism, ADHD, learning difficulties such as dyslexia, and how your child is developing and learning. We understand that autism can look different in girls, and is sometimes missed, so we look carefully and know what to watch for.

Most importantly, our reports don't stop at a diagnosis. We explain what it means in everyday terms and set out practical ways to help your child at home and at school, including what support they may be able to get through the NDIS.

Beyond the report

We can also help with

  • Attending school meetings and talking with teachers and principals
  • Understanding school supports and disability provisions
  • Working with interpreters and families from all backgrounds
  • Linking findings to supports at home and at school

Why does it take this many hours?

Your face-to-face appointments are only about a third of the work. The rest is scoring, careful interpretation, writing a clear report, and a feedback session to talk it all through with you.

Medicare: assessments can't be claimed on Medicare. If you also have therapy sessions, those may attract a rebate in the usual way.

Hours and totals are provided in writing before you book.

No. You can book an assessment directly, though a GP or paediatrician referral is welcome if you have one.

No. Psychological assessments are not rebatable under Medicare. If you also have therapy sessions, those may attract a rebate in the usual way.

How long does it take to get the report?

What will the report actually tell me?

A clear picture of strengths and challenges, a diagnosis where appropriate, and practical recommendations you and your child's school can act on.

Will the school accept it?

Do you assess adults too?
