Our approach

Rigour, with care.

Inner Pathways prepares psychological assessments and reports for migration and visa matters, including family violence provisions, protection claims, and the psychological impact of separation, relocation or return.

Reports are written to address the criteria that decision makers and the Tribunal need to see, with the independence and rigour expected of expert evidence. Shivani brings nearly two decades of assessing children and families, and extensive experience working with people affected by trauma, family violence and displacement, including assessments conducted sensitively with interpreters. Instructing lawyers can expect reports that are thorough, clearly reasoned, and genuinely useful to the matter at hand.

What we do

What we assess

  • Family violence provisions
  • Protection claims
  • Impact of separation, relocation or return
  • Assessments with NAATI-certified interpreters
  • Cultural sensitivity

Lived experience

Where the work began.

Shivani's understanding of displacement is not only clinical. Early in her career she spent three years teaching refugee children in South-Western Sydney, many of whom had fled war with little or no schooling. That experience shaped her lifelong work with people from trauma and refugee backgrounds, and it informs the care and cultural sensitivity she brings to every migration assessment.
